In accordance with PA Act 153 also known at the PA Child Protective Services Law, all employees working for Windsor Township Recreation programs are required to submit background check clearances. Details for each clearance are outlined below. Once clearances are submitted, they are kept on file for 5 years before they need to be renewed. 1. Pennsylvania Criminal History Record Information: Obtained through the PA State Police. Visit . Select "Submit a New Record Check" Once processed, please save the certification form and email to the Recreation Director at
Please note that a volunteer clearance is NOT acceptable for employment purposes 

2. Federal Criminal History: Record Information is obtained by submitting a full set of fingerprints to the PA State Police or its authorized agent for submission to the Federal Bureau of Investigation “for the purpose of verifying the identity of the applicant and obtaining a current record of any criminal arrests and convictions.". Apply for your clearance at using code 1KG756 . Once official results are obtained, return them to Windsor Rec prior to start of employment.

3. PA Child Abuse Clearance: Obtained through the PA Department of Public Welfare (now known as the Department of Human Services) certifying if the applicant is named in the statewide database “as the alleged perpetrator in a pending child abuse investigation or as the perpetrator of a founded report or indicated report” of child abuse. Visit the Department of Human Services website at You will have to create an individual account for yourself and enter in your personal information to apply for the clearance.
