In accordance with PA Act 153 also known at the PA Child Protective Services Law, all volunteers working for the Windsor Township Recreation programs are required to submit background check clearances. Details for each clearance are outlined below. Once clearances are submitted, they are kept on file for 5 years before they need to be renewed. Questions regarding clearances can be directed to Windsor Rec at recdirector@windsorrec.com or (717) 244-3512.

1. Pennsylvania Criminal History Record Information obtained through the PA State Police. Visit https://epatch.pa.gov/TandCVolunteer. Select "New Volunteer Record Check". Once processed, please save and email to the Recreation Director at recdirector@windsorrec.com.

2. Federal Criminal History Record Information is obtained by submitting a full set of fingerprints to the PA State Police or its authorized agent for submission to the Federal Bureau of Investigation “for the purpose of verifying the identity of the applicant and obtaining a current record of any criminal arrests and convictions.” Certain volunteers (those living in PA consistently for ten years) can be exempted from the Federal Criminal History Record Information check. If you need to obtain your fingerprint, please visit https://uenroll.identogo.com. Apply for your clearance through the Department of Human Services using code 1KG6ZJ. Once official results are obtained, return them to Windsor Rec and you will be reimbursed for the cost of the fingerprinting clearance. If you are exempt (lived in PA for the last 10 consecutive years) please print and sign this form: FBI Fingerprint Exemption Waiver and email to recdirector@windsorrec.com

3. PA Child Abuse Clearance obtained through the PA Department of Public Welfare (now known as the Department of Human Services) certifying if the applicant is named in the statewide database “as the alleged perpetrator in a pending child abuse investigation or as the perpetrator of a founded report or indicated report” of child abuse. Visit the Department of Human Services website at https://www.compass.state.pa.us/cwis/public/home. You will have to create an individual account for yourself and enter in your personal information to apply for the clearance. At the end, it will ask for a payment code. Email recdirector@windsorrec.com and ask for the code. A code will be generated specifically for you. Once the application is complete, the Recreation Director will be able to view the results.
