Kids Summer Art Camps

Each project is professionally developed and created by the instructor. One or more artists will be presented to the kids. The kids will have an independent project during down time. It is possible that all of projects will not be accomplished.

Grades 1-3 (2022-2023 School Year) June 13-18

The kids will be instructed in drawing, by using shapes, before each project. A drawing book will be compiled. It is possible that all of projects will not be accomplished. The following is a list of projects and mediums:

Watercolor - The Great Kapok Tree
Mask - people of the rainforest
Insect Print – brayer and ink
Clay Bead Necklace - independent
Pottery- pinch pot
Leaves – pastel

These same projects are being offered at our Grades 1-3 July 11th through July 15th Camp!

AND

Grades 1-3 (2022-2023 School Year) August 8-12

Monkey – tempera painting
Lizard Scratch Board- independent
Wall Hanging – burlap, yarn and fabric
Clay Sculpture – animal of the rainforest
Dart Frog - oil pastel

Grades 4-6 (2022-2023 School Year) June 27-July 1

The kids will be instructed in contour drawing as a prerequisite to the projects. The following is a list of projects and mediums:

Indian Mask - plaster – study in portraiture
Rainforest Painting – tempera
Pop Art Sculpture –Andy Warhol –Clay hamburger, hot dog, other
Mobile - wire and tissue paper –independent
Macaws – oil pastel

These same projects are being offered at our Grades 4-6 July 25th through July 29th camp!


Grades 7-8 (2022-2023 School Year) June 6-June 10

The kids will be instructed in contour drawing as a prerequisite to the projects. The following is a list of projects and mediums:

Indian Portrait – study in portraiture – watercolor
Macaws – oil pastel
Sculpture of make believe birds - plaster of Paris strips, feathers, buttons, fabric
Clay and Reed Pottery combination
Drawing of an Animal – texture in pen and ink- independent
