The WRLU Soccer Summer Developmental Academy is designed for players with 2013 and 2014 birth years (intermediate and experienced) making the transition from U8 to U9 or U9 to U10 for the Fall 2022/Spring 2023 seasons. Players will work on skills such as dribbling, passing, and shooting and be introduced to the next level of the game. Items covered will include 7v7 play, goalie play, corner kicks, goal kicks, build out line, etc. The focus of this program is on individual player technical development (though some tactical principles will be introduced) as we prepare our players for the Fall 2022/Spring 2023 seasons. This program will be run by Gia Sweeney and Brody Patmore, current WRLU U10 soccer coaches and owners of SPsoccertraining.

Each session will be limited to a total of 15 participants. Players will meet two days per week (total of 10 sessions) for one hour.

Coach Brody Patmore: Brody has been playing soccer for 17 years. He played all four years at the varsity level for Red Lion High School and also played collegiately at Division III Alvernia University. Brody now runs SPsoccertraining with his partner Gia Sweeney.

Coach Gia Sweeney: Gia has played at many high levels, one of them being the Washington Spirit professional youth academy. She now runs SPsoccertraining and is the Assistant Coach for the Red Lion High School Lady Lions soccer team. Additionally, Gia recently began playing semi-pro soccer for Hershey FC, competing in the WPSL.

Please note that this program will not take place on Monday July 4th. We will communicate a makeup day once we get started.
